Celebration is a planned community. Started about 11 years ago. Walt Disney Company wanted to build a theme park, but Disney's family choose to develop a community that Walt Disney envisioned and planned. A caring community. Disney had architects plans to build styles of homes in the 1940,s/1950,s. The Celebration Foundation is an independent non-profit organization established in March of 1996 to promote & conduct community building activities. The Celebration Foundation has provided leadership through its support of Celebration's civic and service groups. It also addresses community needs by creating and managing all of the Public Service Announcements on a local cable TV channel 12, local newspapers & magazine, broad meetings, and internet website-known as Front Porch-for residents only. We have our own strip shopping center, town ( with movie theater, boutiques, hairdresser, barber, StarbucksCoffee, excellent restaurants, three banks, office building, hospital , churches, schools from K-12, pre-school,Stetson Univerty, library, tennis courts, park, bike riding, hiking, hotel, condo/hotel, fishing (but we throw them back in and they are hugh), storage center,fire house, great location to exit and enter from Route 192, highways I-4 and 417, and a highway (World Drive)that starts from Celebration and leads to the Disney Parks and Resorts. Great place to live. Celebration town, during the holidays, we have live entertainments, food fest, fireworks, (winter/snows for ten minutes for every hour till 9pm or October feast, leave falling, live entertainment, food and fireworks. In August the Tampa Bay Football Team/ Buccaneers stay at our hotel for training at the Disney's World of Sports and hang out in town. And so much other event, activities, community volunteering and more. In addition, near the beautiful city of Orlando, Universal Studios, Sea World and beach. Either way this community has launched other communities throughout the U.S. and tried to follow the same concepted but there is no place like CELEBRATION. One has to visit here to understand and experience the Orr why 12,000 (approximately) residents, through out the U.S. and World, live here and invest here.
